Philosophy

At Stepping Stone Nursery School we believe that play is an important and vital part of learning. Our lesson plans include a wide variety of age appropriate developmental activities.

This program provides children with play experiences which helps them to develop their skills and knowledge. Our mission is to see that all of our goals for learning are achieved while your child is in a nurturing and safe environment. Through cooperation between parents and teachers we will be able to insure that your child's individual needs will be met.

Stepping Stone creates a warm, caring and safe environment similar to what is provided at your own home. Matched with our goals for developmentally appropriate practices makes our daycare center the right choice for you and your child.

Curriculum

Stepping Stone Nursery School believes that children learn from play. Our curriculum provides structured play with learning in mind. Our schedule for the day includes free play, circle time, activity time, outdoor play, music time and snack time.

Our goal is that your children will learn to share with others, contribute to group activities, develop knowledge of the community, learn the important calendar holidays, listening and learning skills, interest in story books and comprehension of the stories read to them, to be able to classify objects, understanding spatial relationships, knowing the difference in size and quantities, developing fine and large motor skills and to develop relationships with classmates and teachers.

In using these tools your child will learn letters, numbers, shapes, colors and much more without a regimented program.

Infant Room

Each infant will have their own crib

We will heat water and then put the bottle in water to warm it

We will never microwave food or formula

*

Each parent will recieve a sheet everyday as to how your infant's day went. It will include naps, feedings, their mood, diaper changes, etc.

Toddler Room

Toddlers will follow a schedule similar to that of the preschool room

They will be provided with age appropriate activities and projects

*

They will develop social skills, learn to share, be exposed to numbers, colors, and shapes, and learn through exploration and discovery

Important Information

Snacks will be provided as well as juice or water

*

All families will recieve one week vacation-if we are given notice-where tuition will be deducted from that week

*

If your child is ill for a period of time you will only be charged for 50% of that week
